Located in far northeast Mesa, Red Mountain Ranch now offers very appealing location advantages. On January 12, 2003 the Red Mountain Freeway (Loop 202) moved to within one mile of Red Mountain Ranch with the opening of the Higley Road interchange, connected to Red Mountain Ranch by the widing of Thomas Road between Higley and Recker. Residents now have easier access to Sky Harbor Airport and central Phoenix destinations. (Click on the map below for a

). The Val Vista interchange also opened on January 12, 2003. Many connecting surface streets have been widened to support easy access to and from the freeway. Contruction of the segment from Higley to Power with an Interchange at Recker Road, will commence in about a year with completion expected in 2005. The heavily travelled Superstition Freeway 60, seven miles to the south, has been widened to ease congestion, but Loop 2002 represents a very attractive location benefit, not
only for commuters but for residents visiting Scottsdale and other greater Phoenix destinations.
